The Cozy Coop Candle Co. did not start in a boardroom.
It started in a backyard – with chickens, grief, motherhood, and one small flock of what I like to call “egg-laying dinosaurs.”
My father is the reason chickens first came into my life. After he passed, they became more than a hobby. They became a kind of therapy. They gave me a reason to step outside. A reason to laugh. A reason to notice the small things again.
If you have ever kept chickens, you know they are not quiet little background animals. They are bossy. Nosy. Dramatic. Social. Funny in ways you cannot really explain unless you have stood in a yard and watched a hen act offended by absolutely nothing.
Before long, my home and my heart were full of feathers.
And, as every chicken keeper knows, a little bit of farm life follows you inside.
I wanted my house to smell warm, clean, and welcoming. But with an asthmatic son at home, I could not lean on harsh sprays, chemical-heavy air fresheners, or candles I did not trust.
So I started looking for something better.
That search led me to soy wax, cleaner fragrance options, and eventually to a business that brought two parts of my life together: the comfort of a cozy home and the joy of a backyard flock.
That is how The Cozy Coop Candle Co. was hatched.

The Cozy Coop Candle Co. makes hand-poured soy wax candles and melts inspired by chickens, coop life, farmhouse kitchens, quiet mornings, fresh starts, and the beautiful mess of rural living.
Every candle is made with 100% domestically grown soy wax and phthalate-free fragrance.
That part matters.
A candle should make your home feel better, not make you wonder what you are breathing. It should soften a room. Warm up a kitchen. Make the end of a long day feel a little easier.
And if it can make you smile, even better.
Some of our scents are soft and calming. Some are sweet and cozy. Some have a little sass — because, honestly, so do chickens.
Why Chickens?

We are not just putting chicken names on candles. We are building a brand for people who understand the charm, chaos, humor, and heart of the homesteading life.

Where We Are Going
Right now, our goal is to grow The Cozy Coop Candle Co. through e-commerce and local boutique partnerships. We want our candles in the kinds of shops where customers still pick something up, smell it, smile, and say, “Oh, this is perfect for her.”
From there, we hope to expand into wholesale and larger retail spaces – the kind of places where a good, giftable candle can find its people.
Long term, the dream is a storefront candle bar.
A farmhouse-inspired shop where people can pour their own candles, take classes, bring friends, and spend a little time in the world we are building.
A place that smells good, feels easy, and gives people a reason to stay awhile.
Bringing Happiness Home to Roost
The Cozy Coop Candle Co. was built from love, loss, laughter, motherhood, and a flock of birds that helped bring joy back into an ordinary day.
That is what we want our candles to do for others.
